The Kingdom of Heaven Children’s Church Curriculum
13 Weeks of Lessons
by Alicia White
For ages 6-12. Designed for a children’s church format. In much the same way we use the teaching of democracy to give children a building block about how to approach life in America; we must teach children about the kingdom of Heaven to give them a foundation on which to live a victorious and abundant life as a citizen of God’s kingdom. Very few children, much less adults, understand the different aspects of a life lived in an earthly kingdom, mainly due to the fact that kingdoms have become virtually obsolete.
However, in the days of old, kingdoms were a very common form of government and, in fact, originated with God. Kingdoms were so commonly understood in the time of Jesus that using the principle of a kingdom was the way He approached His own teaching ministry.Your children’s eyes will be opened to a new depth of purpose, power, authority, holiness and truth in their walk as citizens of the greatest kingdom that was ever established, and the only one that will last forever: the kingdom of heaven.

Through the viewfinder of a kingdom, your children/youth will receive the revelation that the Bible is a history book of past, present and future, depicting the life of a King, His kingdom, and His citizens. It will become a history book that is relevant for the children of God as we head into the 21st century and beyond. The children will learn about the original government established on this earth—one that existed long before any other—as well as the constitution of government we call the Bible that surpasses all government constitution or laws on this earth. They will gain an understanding of their nation’s culture as they receive the kingdom of God and realize how it can operate in their lives to bring them power, joy and victory on this earth. They will discover their own purpose for being born on this earth and feel a since of belonging to something greater than themselves. A fear of God will be reestablished in their hearts for God’s kingship as they approach His throne, and they will gain a new respect for authority that comes from a spirit of humbleness and reverence for their King and His kingdom.
